Nitrous Oxide, or “Laughing Gas,” is a safe and effective sedative that helps you relax. The gas is mixed with oxygen and delivered through a small mask that fits over your nose. The goal is to help you to be comfortable during dental procedures. The effects will wear off shortly after its use is discontinued following your procedure.
Oral sedation is the use of medication in pill form to provide minimal sedation. The medication may make you drowsy.
Regardless of whether or not you decide to use sedation, we will provide a local anesthetic at the location of the treatment to relieve pain during your procedure. Depending upon the procedure, you may receive a topical medication to numb the area followed by a local anesthetic. Please feel free to discuss any concerns you have with us prior to your appointment or procedure.
